LOCAL AUTHORITIES CONFRONTING DISASTERS & EMERGENCIES
LACDE is an international non-profit association established to assist local authorities around the globe in their struggle against disasters and emergencies.
The Union of Local Authorities in Israel (ULAI), originally conceived LACDE, initiated its establishment and serves today as the Internation al Secretariat for LACDE.
LACDE's Goals are:
To increase the effectiveness of local authorities to prepare for and confront disasters & emergencies, and mitigate the damage of potential disasters, natural of man-made.
To promote the study of disaster management and prevention, in conjunction with appropriate national and international organizations.
To establish a permanent document repository for coordination and collection of material.
LACDE organizes and coordinates international conferences, workshops, training courses and exhibitions on a wide variety of topics, relevant to the goals of its mission. In addition it fosters and supports international relations between local authorities to assist and strengthen them in coordinating efforts to confront potential disasters.

INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF COASTAL CITIES, TOURISM and ENVIRONMENT - (IFOCC)
Welcome to IFOCC
IFOCC is an international, non-profit association established after the first successful conference in Eilat, Israel in 1992.
Three additional, successful International Conferences took place in:
• Pula, Sardinia, Italy 1993
• Skiathos, Greece 1994
• Eilat, Israel 1995
• 2005 Eilat, Israel UN Habitat
The idea for this organization was conceived and initiated by the Union of Local Authorities in Israel.
AIMS AND ACTIVITIES
IFOCC AIMS:
1. To assist the development of coastal cities and regions to become more attractive to international and domestic tourists.
2. To improve the quality of life of the residents in these cities and regions.
3. To expand the recreational and cultural facilities to develop sustainable tourism and employment opportunities in coastal areas.
IFOCC’s ACTIVITIES are:
• Periodic organization of international conferences and exhibitions, seminars, workshops and training.
• Establishment and maintenance of a permanent office for the collection, study and distribution of information in the fields of tourism and the environment.
• Developing partnerships with national, municipal, government and non-governmental as well as voluntary organizations, including the private sector (commercial).
• Promoting the exchange of information, conducting case studies and relevant research.
• Developing programs and projects to further develop a healthy environment and tourism for presentation to international partners to promote sponsorship and funds.
• Cooperation with international organizations including the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as well as governmental and non-governmental agencies.

INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF DECISION MAKERS in YOUTH and SCHOOL EXCHANGE – (IFDMYE)
IFDMYE was established in 1992 during its first international conference in Israel as an international non-profit association working to improve School and Youth exchanges.
AIMS AND ACTIVITIES
We aim:
1. To increase the effectiveness of local authorities in developing and promoting youth and school exchange
2. To establish new partnerships and expand the scope of relationships of those responsible worldwide in the field of youth and school exchange
3. To bring together partners to develop models for bridging hostility to friendship
4. To reduce xenophobia amongst young people through youth and school exchanges

IFDMYE
• coordinates international conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops and training course on a wide variety of topics
• has established a permanent and central office for collection, coordination and distribution of data and material for research in the field of youth and school exchange
• cooperates with national and international agencies dealing in youth and school exchange, as well as governmental and non- governmental offices, research and academic institutes
• fosters and supports international relations between local authorities to encourage programs for youth exchange and coordinate the provision of high-quality educational programs at lower costs.
